Devotional

I know sometimes saying that phrase to God is hard.
“Your will be done, Father God.”

Those words can feel heavy on the tongue when emotions are running high. When family is in the hospital, When parents are getting older, When the income has not come in yet and When loneliness seems to surround you from every direction. In moments like these, surrender does not feel natural — it feels impossible.

But I want to say to you today, my friends, that this is actually the best time to give it all to Him.

Because the truth is, you were never meant to carry that kind of weight alone. When you try to hold everything together in your own strength, eventually you begin to crumble. You grow tired. You grow anxious. Fear starts whispering lies into your mind. Yet Scripture reminds us in Isaiah 41:10 that we do not have to fear, because God Himself promises to strengthen and uphold us.

Jesus never told us that following Him would be easy. In fact, in Matthew 16:24, He made it clear that walking with Him requires daily surrender. It requires laying down our plans, our expectations, and sometimes even our understanding. But what He does give us is something far better than ease — He gives us stability.

Life will still bring storms.

There will still be uncertain days and sleepless nights. Yet when your life is anchored in Christ, those storms do not destroy you the same way. The winds may blow, but your foundation holds. Fear and trembling begin to lose their grip because the Spirit of God lives within you.

None of us truly knows what tomorrow brings. James 4:14 reminds us how brief and fragile life really is. Some people who woke up this morning will not see another sunrise. That is not meant to create panic, but perspective. Time is a gift. And every day we are given another opportunity to trust the One who does see tomorrow clearly.

God is not distant from your struggle. He is not unaware of your pain. He is waiting — patiently and lovingly — for you to bring Him your heart. Not a polished version. Not a perfect version. Just the real, honest, worn-out version.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, as Proverbs 3:5–6 teaches us. Even when you do not understand, Even when the path ahead looks uncertain, and Even when saying “Your will be done” feels like the hardest prayer you have ever prayed.

Because surrender is not defeat.
It is the doorway to peace.

Let today be the day you simply whisper, God, I need you. Come into my heart today. I can’t do this on my own anymore. Forgive me of my sins, I repent and change my ways. Not to be perfect but to be yours.

And when you do, you will discover something powerful — His will is not meant to harm you. It is meant to guide you, grow you, and ultimately bring you closer to Him.

Start your walk with Him today. God loves you, I love you. Have an amazing day

Prayer

Father God,
sometimes surrender feels frightening. Sometimes trusting You feels harder than trying to control everything myself. But today I choose to lay my worries, my fears, and my future into Your hands. Help me to trust Your will even when I do not understand the path. Give me strength for today and peace for tomorrow. Forgive me for the times I have tried to walk alone. Shape my heart to desire You more than anything else. I give my life to You again today.
In Jesus’ name,

amen.
