3️⃣ Devotional
There is no perfect.
We as humans want things to be perfect. If we build something, design something, write something, plan something — we want it just right. As a woodworker and designer, I get that. Measure twice. Cut once. Clean lines. Smooth edges. Perfect timing. Perfect execution.
But here’s the truth: there is no perfect. Not here. Not in us.
Romans 3:23 reminds us that we have all sinned and fallen short. All of us. That means perfection isn’t something we achieve — it’s something only God possesses. Matthew 5:48 tells us to be perfect as our Heavenly Father is perfect, and that standard alone shows us something: we can’t do this without Him.
We are not perfect people. God is the only One who is.
And if we’re honest, most of our stress comes from trying to control everything. We want the timing to be perfect. The plan to be perfect. The outcome to be perfect. We white-knuckle the steering wheel of life like if we loosen our grip for one second, everything will fall apart.
Let me lovingly say this:
Let go of the wheel.
Proverbs 3:5–6 tells us to trust in the Lord with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding. That means releasing control. That means accepting that His way is higher. His timing is better. His plans are wiser.
Life is messy. Mistakes are going to happen. You’ll run late sometimes, forget things, say the wrong thing, miss an opportunity. It’s part of being human.
But here’s the beautiful shift — when we accept Jesus, we are made new. Galatians 2:20 says we have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer we who live, but Christ who lives in us. We are still human in body, yes — but spiritually, we belong to Him. We are being transformed.
That transformation isn’t instant perfection. It’s a process.
Romans 8:5–6 talks about setting our minds on the Spirit instead of the flesh. That’s retraining the soul. That’s choosing Spirit over impulse. Choosing surrender over control. Choosing obedience over comfort.
And let’s be real — retraining habits is hard. We love our routines. We love what feels familiar. The flesh fights back. But growth happens in the tension. And it does get easier. Not because we become perfect, but because we become more aligned.
Ecclesiastes 3:11 says He makes everything beautiful in its time. Not our time. His time.
So if you’re waiting for the perfect season, the perfect moment, the perfect version of yourself before you start — stop waiting.
It will never be perfect.
If it aligns with God’s Word… if it lines up with your calling… if the Holy Spirit is nudging you… do it.
Start the business. Share the testimony. Apologize first. Forgive. Create. Serve. Move.
It won’t be flawless. But it will be faithful.
And faithful is better than perfect.
Love you all. Have a blessed day.
4️⃣ Prayer
Father God,
Thank You for reminding me that I don’t have to be perfect — because You already are. Forgive me for trying to control everything and for stressing over things that were never mine to carry.
Teach me to trust You fully. Help me release the wheel and surrender my timing, my plans, and my expectations. Train my mind to follow the Spirit and not the flesh. Give me courage to move forward even when things feel messy or unfinished.
I don’t want to wait for perfect. I want to walk in obedience.
Shape me. Grow me. Lead me.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
