Devotional

This isn’t always the most popular thing to say.

But it’s the truth.

Jesus is the only way.

Not one of many ways, or the best option among several. Not a spiritual path you can mix in with others. John 14:6 — Jesus Himself said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

That’s direct. Clear. Uncompromising.

And in a world that tells us “all roads lead to God,” that can feel uncomfortable to stand on. We don’t like exclusivity. We don’t like drawing lines. But truth draws lines whether we want it to or not.

Acts 4:12 says there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.

No other name.

That’s not arrogance. That’s rescue.

If a building is on fire and there’s only one exit, pointing people to the door isn’t narrow-minded — it’s love. Jesus isn’t restricting access to God. He is access to God.

He said in John 10:9 that He is the door. Doors are meant to be entered. Open. Welcoming.

But they are specific.

Here’s the beautiful part: the only way is also the most loving way. Romans 5:8 reminds us that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. He didn’t wait for us to clean ourselves up, or require perfection. He made a way when there was none.

We couldn’t earn it. Ephesians 2:8–9 makes that clear — we are saved by grace through faith, not by works. Not by being “good enough.” Not by balancing out bad with good.

Only grace.

Only Jesus.

Yes, Matthew 7:13–14 tells us the gate is narrow. But narrow doesn’t mean hidden. It doesn’t mean complicated. It means defined.

There’s freedom in that.

Because if Jesus is the only way, then the pressure is off us trying to create our own. We don’t have to strive to build a staircase to heaven. We don’t have to piece together a spiritual résumé.

Just surrender, believe, follow.

Some people struggle with this truth because it sounds exclusive. But the invitation is actually radically inclusive — “whoever believes.” Anyone. From any background. Any past. Any mistake.

The way is narrow.

The invitation is wide.

And if you’re reading this and you’ve been trying to earn God’s love, or trying to figure out your own path, hear this gently but clearly:

You don’t need a new system.

You need a Savior.

Jesus is not a suggestion. He is the bridge. The door. The way home.

And the best part?

He’s not hard to find. He’s already reaching for you.

Choose the Way.

Choose Jesus.

Love you all. God bless.

Prayer

Jesus,

Thank You for being the way. Thank You for making a path to the Father when I could never make one on my own. Forgive me for the times I’ve tried to earn what You already paid for. Help me to trust You fully, follow You boldly, and stand firm in truth with love.

Thank You for Your grace and for inviting me in.

In Your name, amen.
