The Narrow Road That Changed Everything
Verse
“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. ‘
Matthew 7:13-14
Reflection
This is why I do what I do.
The road to Heaven is narrow, while the road to destruction feels like a wide-open freeway. I write, post, and share God’s Word and the light of Jesus for one reason—if even one soul finds their way home, it’s worth it.
Getting to Heaven is simpler than most people think. Believe in what Jesus did for you. That’s it. Really. Salvation isn’t earned. It’s received.
Some people might say, “But Luke, what you do has changed your life.”
And they’re right.
God changed me. God changed my life—for the better.
Good works aren’t required for salvation. They never were. But good works are the fruit of faith. Faith produces change. Faith produces obedience. Faith produces a new heart. But no amount of good works can get someone into Heaven.
Others might say, “But you still sin—doesn’t that make you a hypocrite?”
No. Because every one of us sins. Not one of us is perfect.
The difference is the heart.
I no longer want to sin. I repent when I fall. I don’t live in sin on purpose anymore. Because of Jesus, I am washed clean—not because I’m flawless, but because I’m forgiven.
This didn’t happen overnight.
This change has taken a lifetime.
I grew up in church. I fell away from God. And about five years ago, I came back. Since then, my life has been completely flipped.
But so have I.
When I look back at who I was five years ago, I never would’ve believed I’d be where I am today.
But God.
God taught me to grow.
God taught me to love.
God taught me to live in peace.
And God is still refining me—like a precious stone, polished over time.
The road may be narrow.
But it leads to life.
Prayer
God, thank You for the narrow road—even when it’s hard. Thank You for saving me by grace, not by works. Keep shaping my heart, refining my life, and using my story to point others to You. Amen.
