đ Thanksgiving Day Devotional: The Overflowing Cup
đ Scripture “Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefitsâwho forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagleâs.” â Psalm 103:1-5 (NIV)
đĄ The Message Today, we gather around tables heavy with food. We laugh with family, we watch football, we nap. Itâs a good day.
But letâs take a moment before the chaos begins to recognize why this day is truly “epic.”
Thanksgiving isn’t just a polite nod to God for the roof over our heads or the food on our platesâthough we are deeply grateful for those things.
Real, biblical thanksgiving is an eruption of the soul. Itâs looking at the sheer mountain of Godâs grace in our lives and realizing our cup isn’t just full; itâs running over.
Look at that list in Psalm 103. He doesn’t just give us “stuff.” He forgives our darkest moments. He heals our broken places. He redeems us from the pit when we are stuck. He crowns us with a love we don’t deserve.
Today, don’t just be thankful for the gifts; be overwhelmed by the Giver. No matter what this past year has heldâhigh peaks or deep valleysâGod has been faithful through every single second of it.
So today, eat the turkey, hug your people tight, and let your soul shout “Praise the Lord!” because we are wildly, astonishingly blessed.
đ Prayer Father, today my heart is bursting. Thank You. Not just for the food on the table, but for the grace that saved my soul. Thank You for redeeming my life from the pit and crowning me with Your love. Even if the table were empty today, I would still be rich because I have You. May my life be a constant song of gratitude. In the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
