Devotional

Life is hard… and yeah, I say a lot about positivity, joy, love, and faith—and I mean every bit of it. I believe in it. I want it for everyone. But I’m still human.

I still have bad days.

There are moments I sit there and think, God, when? Why does it feel like nothing is happening? Why am I still here? Why do I feel alone? Where is everything You promised?

And if I’m being real… I still struggle with sin too. Lust. Judging. Gossip. Probably more than I even realize sometimes. I don’t justify it. I don’t want it. But it happens.

And that tension? That internal fight?

It’s not new.

Even Paul said in Romans 7:15–25 that he didn’t do what he wanted to do—and did the very things he hated. That’s in the Bible for a reason. Not to excuse sin, but to remind us: the struggle doesn’t mean you’re failing—it means you’re fighting.

Yes, when we accept Jesus, we are made new (Galatians 2:20). It’s no longer us living, but Christ in us.

But we’re still in this human body.

And it pulls. Hard.

The flesh is loud. The world is loud. Habits don’t disappear overnight. It takes time for the mind to be renewed, for the soul to fully align with God instead of the world.

That doesn’t make you fake.

That makes you in process.

Even in the hard days… even in the weeks where it feels like you’re stuck… if you look back, you’ll see something powerful:

God has changed you.

You’re not who you used to be.

You don’t think the same.
You don’t move the same.
You don’t live the same.

That didn’t happen by accident.

That’s God.

Philippians 1:6 reminds us that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion. Not might. Not hopefully. Will.

But here’s the struggle—we don’t always see progress the right way.

We look at how far we still have to go instead of how far God has already brought us.

And that can be exhausting.

So yeah… sometimes you need a break.

Not from God—but from the pressure you’re putting on yourself.

Because let’s be honest—we try so hard to “do enough” for God that we burn ourselves out.

But here’s truth:

God isn’t asking you to earn His approval.

You already have it through Jesus.

Psalm 103:13–14 says He knows we are dust. He understands our weakness. He’s not shocked by your struggle—He’s compassionate in it.

And in your weakness?

His grace is enough (2 Corinthians 12:9).

So don’t quit.

Don’t give up.

Don’t believe the lie that your struggle disqualifies you.

It doesn’t.

It proves you belong to Him.

Take a breath if you need it.

Rest.

Reset.

But get back up.

Because you didn’t choose the world—you chose Jesus.

And that matters more than anything.

Prayer

God,
You see me fully—the good, the bad, the struggles I don’t even talk about. Thank You for not giving up on me even when I feel frustrated with myself. Help me not to focus only on how far I have to go, but to see how far You’ve already brought me. Strengthen me in my weak areas. Renew my mind daily. Teach me how to rest in Your grace instead of striving for Your approval. And when I fall, remind me to get back up and keep walking with You.

I choose You again today.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.
