š Daily Devotional ā āSlow Down to Hear Godā
āBe still, and know that I am God.ā ā Psalm 46:10
We all know the feelingā¦
Ten million things to do.
Not enough hours to do them.
Life pulling you one way, responsibilities pulling you another.
And somewhere in the chaos, your spirit starts choking for air.
Hereās the truth most of us donāt want to admit:
You canāt hear God when youāre sprinting.
When we rush through every dayā
trying to fix everything,
solve everything,
carry everythingā
weāre doing the very opposite of what God told us to do.
God says: āBe still.ā
Not because He wants you lazy.
Not because He wants you behind.
But because your soul canāt survive without stillness.
Even good thingsāministry, caregiving, serving, building, providingācan become noise when theyāre done in frantic exhaustion.
You donāt have to finish everything today.
You donāt have to prove anything to anyone.
And you definitely donāt need to run yourself into the ground to be āfaithful.ā
God blesses obedience, not burnout.
So today, slow down:
⢠Pray without rushing.
⢠Hug longer.
⢠Listen deeper.
⢠Breathe intentionally.
⢠Sit in creation and look at what God made.
⢠Enjoy the moments instead of racing through them.
You can only do what you can do.
And everything you canāt do?
God can.
Heās not asking for speedāHeās asking for faithfulness.
Slow down today, friend.
Your soul needs it.
And God is waiting in the quiet.
You got this⦠because Godās got you. ā¤ļø
š Prayer
Father, help me slow my spirit.
Quiet my racing thoughts.
Teach me to breathe, to rest, and to hear You in the stillness.
Show me what truly matters today, and help me let go of what doesnāt.
Fill my heart with peace instead of pressure.
Thank You for meeting me when I stop long enough to listen.
Amen.
