Wake up call – Live like Jesus is coming NOW

Reflection
I watched a video last night of a man who said he died and came back. He claimed he saw Jesus. I’m not here to argue whether it happened or didn’t. That’s not the point. The message is.
He said Jesus told him the church isn’t living like He’s coming back soon. He compared it to the final two minutes of a football game—when the clock is almost out and everything suddenly matters. That statement should shake us.
But here’s the truth: this isn’t about guessing when Jesus is coming back. We’ve never been told when. We’ve been told to be ready. Always.
The problem isn’t that the church doesn’t know Scripture. The problem is that too many of us live like we have unlimited time. We talk about Jesus on Sundays and live like the world the rest of the week. We say we follow Christ but excuse behavior that looks nothing like Christ.
We are Christ followers. That means our lives should reflect Jesus every day, not just when it’s convenient. Not just when we’re rested. Not just when people are watching. Friday night matters just as much as Sunday morning.
This isn’t about religion. It’s about obedience. It’s about love. It’s about integrity. Whether Jesus returns today or hundreds of years from now, we are still called to live right now.
The church isn’t the building.
The church is us.
And yes—we can do better. Including me.
This is a wake-up call. Not from fear. From truth.
Action
Today, examine one area of your life you’ve been excusing instead of surrendering. Don’t justify it. Don’t delay it. Bring it to God and choose obedience—now.
Prayer
Father God, holy is Your name. Jesus, wake us up. Teach us to live like Your return matters because it does. Help us stop treating faith like a schedule and start living it as a calling. Make us Your church—bold, loving, obedient, and alive. In Jesus’ mighty name, amen.
