Devotional

Sometimes, especially when we’re new to following Christ, we want to go full steam ahead. Gung ho. All in. No hesitation.

And that passion? That’s beautiful.

We trust God’s timing, His plan. We say we trust completely. Yes — that’s real. That’s faith. Proverbs 3:5–6 reminds us to trust in the Lord with all our heart and not lean on our own understanding.

But here’s something we don’t talk about enough.

It’s okay to ask why.

It’s okay to say, “Why is this happening, Father?”

Because He is our Father. Our Creator, Provider, Protector.

God wants relationship, not dictatorship.

Relationship involves conversation. It involves honesty. It involves emotion.

We say we trust His timing — but the truth is, we don’t know the timing. Jeremiah 29:11 tells us He knows the plans He has for us. He knows. We don’t. We only see what He chooses to show us.

For example, I know what God has shown me about God’s Grace Studios. What He’s revealed makes me excited — not for me, but for the people it will help. I can see the impact. I can feel the calling.

But I don’t know when.

So here I sit, trying to do what I believe is right. Moving forward in faith. And sometimes it backfires. Sometimes doors close. Sometimes the timing feels off.

And I look up and say, “Why, Father? Why is this not working? Where is my soulmate? When will this happen?”

And you know what?

That doesn’t scare God.

Look at Scripture.
Job 3:11 — Job questioned the very day he was born.
Psalm 13:1–2 — David cried, “How long, Lord?”
Exodus 5:22 — Moses asked God why He sent him if things were only getting worse.
Even Jesus in Matthew 26:39 prayed honestly in the garden.

Questioning is not rebellion when your heart is surrendered.

God created us with emotions. He understands frustration. He understands confusion. Hebrews 4:16 reminds us we can approach the throne of grace boldly. That includes when we don’t understand.

You can even feel upset. You can even say, “This hurts.”

Just keep your heart aimed at Him.

The difference is posture.

Are you asking in disbelief — or in trust?
Are you walking away — or leaning in?

There’s a big difference between shaking your fist at God and falling at His feet saying, “Help me understand.”

Don’t beat yourself up for asking why.

Just check your heart when you do.

Stay close, honest. Stay surrendered.

He’s not threatened by your questions.
He’s inviting you deeper through them.

Love you all. God bless.

Prayer

Father,

Thank You that I can come to You honestly. Thank You that You are not distant or offended by my questions. When I don’t understand Your timing, help me trust Your heart. When things don’t move the way I hoped, keep me grounded in faith.

Search my heart. If I ever ask “why,” let it come from a place of trust, not pride. Keep me close to You. Teach me to lean in instead of pulling away.

I want relationship with You, not just results from You.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen.

On Facebook’s Home Page, in the upper left hand corner; search for these groups and any other areas of interest to you.

Kokomo Indiana groups (that allow advertising) – then click to see more.
Howard County Indiana groups (that allow advertising) – then click to see more.

You can either join on the page that appears or go to each individual group and join there. But whenever you do go to the group page, check to see if the group is still active. And if not, unsubscribe.

You can also also advertise your wood creations on Facebook’s Marketplace, multiple ways; like one post could offer all the wood creations at once. A later post, and later, and later would be to also post each item individually. You can do that in FB groups also.
