Devotional
Happy Easter!!
This is THE day.
The most important day—not just of Holy Week—but of everything.
Because today… the tomb is empty.
In Matthew 28:1–6, the women go to the tomb expecting to find Jesus’ body. Instead, they’re met with this:
“He is not here… He has risen.”
Just like He said.
That’s the moment everything changes.
All the pain from Friday…
All the silence from Saturday…
It wasn’t the end.
In Luke 24:6–7, we’re reminded—Jesus told them this would happen. This wasn’t unexpected. This was the plan all along.
And now—it’s fulfilled.
Death didn’t win.
The grave didn’t hold Him.
Sin didn’t have the final say.
Jesus walked out.
Alive.
In John 20:19–20, He appears to the disciples. Real. Physical. Not a memory. Not a story.
Alive.
And can you imagine that moment?
From fear… to shock… to overwhelming joy.
That’s resurrection power.
And here’s why it matters so much:
If Jesus only died… He would’ve been a sacrifice.
But because He rose… He is Savior and King.
1 Corinthians 15:20–22 says He is the firstfruits—the proof that death is not the end for those who are in Him.
And Romans 6:9 makes it clear—death no longer has dominion over Him.
Which means it doesn’t have the final word over you either.
That’s the victory of today.
This isn’t just about something that happened back then—
this is about what it means right now.
Because of the resurrection:
You’re not stuck, You’re not defined by your past and You’re not bound by sin anymore.
You have new life.
Real life.
Jesus didn’t just rise from the grave—
He made a way for you to rise too.
So today isn’t just celebration—it’s transformation.
It’s the reminder that no matter how dark it gets…
no matter how final something feels…
God still brings life out of what looks dead.
So say it. Believe it. Live it:
HE IS RISEN.
And because He lives… so can you.
Prayer
Jesus,
Thank You for the resurrection. Thank You that the grave couldn’t hold You and that death is defeated. Help me live in that truth—not just today, but every day. Remind me that I have new life because of You, and give me the courage to walk in it. Let the power of Your resurrection change how I think, how I live, and how I follow You.
In Your name, Jesus,
Amen.
