Reflection

There are days when life feels like you're standing at the edge of the Red Sea. Behind you are mistakes, fears, or problems chasing you down. In front of you is an impossible situation that you can't fix on your own. Moses knew exactly what that felt like.

After leading Israel out of Egypt, Moses found himself trapped. Pharaoh's army was closing in, the sea blocked the way forward, and the people began to panic. They questioned everything. They wondered if following God had been a mistake. But Moses didn't tell them to figure it out themselves. He simply reminded them to trust God because the battle belonged to God (Exodus 14:13–14).

We all have seasons like that. Maybe you're waiting on a job, struggling in a relationship, facing financial pressure, dealing with health issues, or simply wondering what God is doing with your life. Sometimes it feels like every direction is blocked. The temptation is to panic, give up, or run back to what feels familiar—even if what was familiar wasn't good for us.

Reflection

The amazing part of Moses' story is that God didn't remove the obstacle first. God asked Moses to trust and obey before the sea ever opened. Moses stretched out his staff in faith, and then God made a way where there wasn't one (Exodus 14:21–22). Faith often looks like taking the next step before you can see the whole path.

Hebrews reminds us that Moses chose to trust God's promises over temporary comfort. That choice wasn't always easy, but it was always worth it. Following God doesn't promise an easy road, but it does promise that you will never walk it alone.

Isaiah 43:2 says that when you pass through deep waters, God will be with you. Notice it doesn't say if you go through deep waters—it says when. Difficult seasons are part of life, but so is God's faithful presence.

Maybe today your "Red Sea" looks different than Moses', but the same God is still making a way. Sometimes God parts the waters. Sometimes God gives us strength to keep walking through them. Either way, God never abandons those who trust Him.

Today, instead of focusing on the size of the obstacle, remember the size of the God who stands before it. The path may not be visible yet, but God already knows where it leads.

Prayer

Father, thank You for being the God who makes a way when I can't see one. Help me trust You instead of my fears. Give me courage to obey even when I don't understand what You're doing. Remind me that You are with me through every challenge and that no obstacle is too great for You. Strengthen my faith to keep walking one step at a time, knowing that Your plans are always better than my own. In Jesus' name,

Amen.
