Devotional:

"This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it." (Psalm 118:24, NLT.) I truly believe every day is a blessing from God. But if we're being honest, some days it's a lot harder to rejoice than others.

Life has a way of piling things on us. Sometimes we're not even actively worrying about anything, yet our minds seem to be carrying burdens in the background. Stress, responsibilities, disappointments, unanswered questions—they quietly build up until one day we find ourselves getting frustrated over little things.

That's exactly what happened to me.

Over the last couple of weeks, I noticed I was becoming more easily frustrated than I should have been. At first, I couldn't figure out why. Nothing major had changed, yet my patience seemed shorter than normal. Then it finally clicked. Even though I wasn't consciously worrying, my mind had been quietly collecting every little concern.

Since realizing that, I've started taking just a few minutes each day to stop and give it all to God. Not because I suddenly have all the answers, but because He does.

God never asked us to carry tomorrow's weight by ourselves. He invites us to bring everything to Him. Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us not to worry about anything but to pray about everything. As we bring our requests to Him with thankful hearts, His peace guards our hearts and minds.

Keep Returning to Him

The truth is, we may have to surrender the same worries over and over again. That's not failure—that's faith.

God isn't disappointed because you struggle with worry. He knows we're human. He knows what weighs on our hearts, even the things we haven't fully recognized ourselves. That's why 1 Peter 5:7 tells us to cast all our cares on Him because He cares for us.

When those hidden burdens start affecting your attitude, don't beat yourself up. Instead, take a breather. Spend a few quiet moments with the Lord. Remember the mission He's given you. Trust that His plan is bigger than your fears, your frustrations, and your unanswered questions.

Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us to trust in the Lord with all our heart instead of leaning on our own understanding. We won't always understand what's happening, but we can always trust the One who does.

Jesus also gives this beautiful invitation in Matthew 11:28-30: "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest."

Never give up during these seasons. Keep bringing everything to Him. Keep trusting Him. Keep moving forward one day at a time.

God has a plan, and that's what matters most.

Prayer:

Father,

Thank You for giving me another day. Even when my mind is carrying burdens I don't fully recognize, You already know every worry hidden beneath the surface. Help me to surrender them to You instead of carrying them alone. Teach me to trust Your plan even when I don't understand it. Fill my heart with Your peace and help me respond with patience instead of frustration. Remind me each day that You are faithful, You are in control, and You will never give up on me. Thank You for always welcoming me back with grace. I choose today to place every burden into Your hands and trust that You will lead me where You want me to go.

In Jesus' name,

Amen.
