Devotional
People make getting to Heaven sound complicated, but the answer is actually simple. Jesus made the way.
How does someone reach Heaven? By putting their faith in Jesus Christ alone. Jesus said in John 14:6 that He is the way, the truth, and the life, and that no one comes to the Father except through Him. We can't earn our way there by being good enough or doing enough good works. Ephesians 2:8–9 reminds us that we are saved by God's grace through faith. Salvation is a gift.
So what do we do? We confess that we are sinners, ask Jesus to forgive us, turn from our sin, and trust Him as our one and only Savior. We surrender our lives to Him. That's where our new life begins.
But that's not where the story ends.
When we truly belong to Jesus, we become a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17). Our identity changes. We are no longer defined by our sin. We have been made righteous because of what Jesus did on the cross, not because we've become perfect. Yes, we still sin, but we are no longer slaves to it. There's a huge difference between someone living comfortably in sin without Christ and someone who belongs to Christ yet grieves over their sin and continually runs back to God in repentance.
Repentance isn't just saying, "I'm sorry." It means changing your mind and changing your direction. It's choosing to turn away from sin and toward Jesus. As 1 John 1:9 tells us, when we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Keep Walking with Jesus
Every day we have a choice. We either feed our flesh or follow the Spirit. Romans 6 tells us to consider ourselves dead to sin and alive to God. That doesn't mean the battle disappears. In fact, sometimes it feels even stronger because the flesh still craves what is sinful. Galatians 5:16–17 reminds us that our sinful nature and the Spirit are constantly at war with each other.
Some days we experience great victory. Other days we stumble. But when we fall, we don't stay there. We get back up, confess our sin, receive God's forgiveness, and keep following Jesus. That's the life of a believer. God isn't asking for perfection—God is calling us to faithful repentance and dependence on Christ.
The closer we grow to Jesus, the more our desires begin to change. Sin loses its grip. Temptation doesn't disappear, but God's strength grows in us. Like breaking any unhealthy habit, walking in obedience becomes more natural as we spend time with God through prayer, Scripture, and surrender.
The enemy attacks those who belong to Christ because he wants to discourage us and pull us away from God. But we don't fight for victory—we fight from the victory Jesus has already won.
I can honestly tell you this: a life with Jesus is far better than a life without Him. It doesn't mean life is easy. There will still be valleys, suffering, heartbreak, and trials. But you never walk through them alone.
More than anything, I want to see you in Heaven someday. I know not everyone will choose Jesus, and that breaks my heart. But that won't stop me from sharing the hope I've found. My job isn't to save anyone—that's God's work. My job is simply to plant seeds and trust God to make them grow.
I love you all.
May God be with each one of you.
Prayer
Jesus, thank You for making a way where there was no way. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins and giving me new life through Your grace. Help me to live each day in repentance, turning away from sin and following You more closely. When I fall, remind me that Your mercy is greater than my failures. Strengthen me through Your Spirit to walk in obedience and keep my eyes fixed on You. Use my life to point others to Your love and truth. In Jesus' name,
Amen.
