Devotional:
God has not forgotten you.
I know that feeling though. The quiet. The waiting. The silence that makes you start asking, “God… where are You?” It’s real. It’s heavy. And if we’re honest, it can shake your faith if you sit in it too long without truth.
But silence does not mean absence.
Throughout Scripture, we see that God often does His deepest work in the unseen places. In Isaiah 40:31, it says those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength. Not those who rush ahead. Not those who have everything figured out. Those who wait.
Waiting is not punishment. It’s preparation.
In Psalm 46:10, God says, “Be still, and know that I am God.” Stillness isn’t empty—it’s intentional. It’s where trust is built. It’s where your faith gets roots instead of just leaves.
God is working in the background.
Even when you can’t see it, Romans 8:28 reminds us He is working all things together for good. Not some things. Not just the obvious blessings. All things. That includes the quiet seasons, the confusing moments, and the prayers that feel like they’re hitting the ceiling.
Sometimes God is building you before He blesses you.
If He gave you everything right now, would you be ready to carry it? Would your character match the calling? That’s what these silent seasons are for. Growth. Strength. Dependence on Him—not just His gifts.
Hebrews 11:1 says faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. That means real faith shows up strongest when you don’t see anything happening.
So instead of asking, “Has God forgotten me?”
Shift it to: “God is working, even now.”
That shift changes everything.
It moves you from doubt into trust. From anxiety into expectation. From fear into faith.
Lamentations 3:25 says the Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him. Not ignores Him. Not gives up on Him. Seeks Him.
So keep showing up. Keep praying. Keep trusting.
God hasn’t forgotten you—not for a second.
He’s building something in you that’s going to make sense later. And when it does, you’ll realize the silence wasn’t empty…
It was full of purpose.
Prayer:
God,
Thank You for reminding me that silence doesn’t mean You’re gone. Help me trust You in the waiting seasons, even when I don’t understand what You’re doing. Strengthen my faith when it feels weak, and teach me to see with spiritual eyes instead of just natural ones. Grow me, prepare me, and align my heart with Your will. I choose to believe You are working—even now.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
