Why Do We Celebrate Christmas?

📖 Verse

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
John 3:16

💭 Reflection

Christmas.
A magical time when people all over the world come together to celebrate — lights, trees, decorations, family, and friends.

But for followers of Christ, there is one reason that rises above all others… and for some, the only reason we celebrate:

The birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Jesus was born in Bethlehem. And no, we don’t know the exact day. Some believe it may have been in March, others at a different time of year. But this is the day we have — and God understands that we do not know the exact date. I believe God is simply pleased that we remember, acknowledge, and celebrate the birth of His Son.

You see, the day itself isn’t what matters most.

Yes, we celebrate Jesus all year long — His life, His sacrifice, and the way we are called to spread His light and love daily. But Christmas is the day we pause together to remember the moment Heaven touched earth.

A star lit up the sky.
Shepherds were drawn from their fields.
Wise men traveled far to see one baby boy.

A baby who would change the world.
A Savior who would one day take our punishment upon Himself.
A King who would save billions of souls through His death and resurrection.

Today, remember this:
Christmas is where it all began.
Over 2,000 years ago, God stepped into humanity — for us.

🙏 Prayer

God, thank You for giving us Your only Son.
Thank You for Your love and for the sacrifice You knew Jesus would one day make for our souls. Thank You for not giving up on us when You so easily could have.

I pray this message reaches the hearts of believers and non-believers alike. May they see Your love, Your mercy, and the incredible gift You gave the world.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
