📖 Daily Devotional — The Measure You Use
📖 Scripture
“Do not judge, and you will not be judged.
Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned.
Forgive, and you will be forgiven.
Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap.
For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
— Luke 6:37–38
💭 Reflection
Many of us have read or heard these verses before. You read them and think, yeah, that’s good.
But have you ever really slowed down and let them sink in?
Jesus isn’t giving suggestions here. He’s showing us a way to live.
Do not judge — and you won’t be judged.
Do not condemn — and you won’t be condemned.
Forgive — and you will be forgiven.
Give — and it will be given back to you, more than you gave, overflowing.
I’m not saying be better than others — because not one of us is better than anyone else.
I’m saying do better, my friends.
Do you want God to judge you? Then why judge others?
Do you want God to condemn you? Then why condemn others?
Do you want God’s forgiveness? Then forgive — fully, even when it’s hard.
And when you give, don’t give expecting something back.
Give freely. Love freely. Forgive freely.
Jesus did.
And I don’t know about you, but I want to be as much like Jesus as I possibly can. Jesus is my role model. And if He isn’t yours… maybe it’s worth taking a moment to check where you stand.
I love you all.
🙏 Prayer
Father God, forgive us. Jesus Himself said, “Forgive them, for they do not know what they do.”
Forgive us when we judge others. Forgive us when we condemn instead of love. Forgive us when we withhold forgiveness, generosity, or grace.
Holy Spirit, guide our hearts today. Show us the right way to live, the right way to respond, and the right way to love. We don’t want to sin. We don’t want to judge or condemn. We want to forgive and give the way Jesus did.
Thank You for Your mercy, grace, and forgiveness.
In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
Religion has taught us many fallacies that do not reflect the true character of God.
The Father judgeth no man. John 5:22
And Jesus said, It is ye that judge after the flesh; I judge no man. John 8:15
