āJesus Picks Up the Slackā
š Verse
āFor by grace you have been saved through faithāand this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of Godānot by works, so that no one can boast.ā
ā Ephesians 2:8ā9
š Reflection
Jesus paid for our sins. Jesus covered our shortcomings. Jesus filled the gap we could never close on our own.
Yet many of us still carry guilt on days when we feel like we didnāt do enough ā pray enough, serve enough, accomplish enough. That guilt feels spiritual, but in truth, it quietly insults the finished work of Jesus.
Think of it this way:
Each day has ā100 points.ā Yesterday, maybe you gave 99. Was it perfect? No. But Jesus covered what was missing. Today, maybe you only managed 50. Some days itās 20. Some days itās 5.
And every single time ā Jesus steps in and completes what we cannot.
What matters most isnāt perfection. Itās the heart. Itās showing up. Itās doing your best with what you have that day. We will never reach 100% on our own ā and thatās not failure. Thatās the very reason we need a Savior.
Grace means you donāt wake up trying to earn Godās love.
Grace means Jesus already handled what you couldnāt.
Grace means effort flows from love, not fear.
You are human. You will have good days, bad days, and in-between days. And on every one of them ā Jesus has your back.
š Prayer
Jesus, thank You for picking up the slack where I lack. Forgive me for the days I feel guilty for not doing āenough.ā I trust that You see my heart and my effort. I know I will never be perfect, and I donāt pretend to be. I am here for Your work, Your will, and Your glory ā not my own. Thank You, Jesus. Thank You, God. Thank You, Holy Spirit, for Your love, forgiveness, and guidance. Amen.
