Daily Devotional — Grace in the Ongoing Battle

📖 Daily Devotional — Grace in the Ongoing Battle

📖 Scripture
“For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing…
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”
— Romans 7:19; 8:1

💭 Reflection
Let’s talk about something real.

Recurring sin.

The kind you fight… fall into… regret… then fight again.

Every believer struggles with something. Every one of us. It may look different on the surface, but the pattern is the same — I don’t want this… yet here I am again.

And that’s where guilt and shame often step in.

But here’s the truth we forget: struggle does not cancel righteousness.

Paul himself said he wrestled with doing the very things he hated. And yet, right after admitting that struggle, he declared something powerful — there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

No condemnation.
Not “less condemnation.”
Not “condemnation on bad weeks.”
None.

Righteousness isn’t something we earn by perfect behavior. It’s something we receive because of Jesus. If righteousness depended on consistency, none of us would have it.

The enemy wants recurring sin to do one thing above all else: silence you with shame. Because shame keeps us hiding, isolating, and believing we’re disqualified.

But Jesus doesn’t meet us with disgust. Jesus meets us with truth and grace.

Growth isn’t a straight line. It’s a journey. Sometimes it looks like progress. Sometimes it looks like the same battle — but with more awareness, more honesty, and more light.

If you’re asking “Why did I do that?” instead of pretending it didn’t happen — that’s not failure. That’s awakening.

God is not surprised by your struggle. God is committed to your healing.

So don’t quit. Don’t hide. Don’t believe the lie that you should be “past this by now.”

You are not condemned.
You are not fake.
You are not alone.

Grace is not permission to sin — it’s the power to keep standing back up.

🙏 Prayer
Father God, thank You for Your grace that meets us in our weakness. Forgive us when we fall into patterns we don’t want and don’t understand. Help us release shame and receive Your truth. Teach us to come to You honestly instead of hiding. Strengthen us day by day, and remind us that You are faithful to finish the work You started in us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
