Devotional
Last night I was praying and talking to God about where my life is headed, where I believe He is leading me, and what God’s Grace Studios truly means. I’ve said many times that it is more than a business — it is a ministry. And honestly, something shifted in my heart.
I told God I don’t care about becoming wealthy. That I don’t need luxury. I don’t need fame. I simply want to be comfortable enough to take care of what needs taken care of. But beyond that, I want God’s Grace Studios to overflow.
Why?
Because giving is deeply connected to the mission.
Not just financially, but spiritually. Encouragement. Hope. The Gospel. Creativity. Kindness. Building things that bless people. Using the gifts God gave me to shine His light into dark places.
Then today, the sermon hit directly on what I had prayed about the night before.
“Be a river, not a reservoir.”
That hit hard.
A reservoir collects and stores everything for itself. But a river receives and continuously flows outward. That’s what we are called to be with the blessings, gifts, wisdom, and opportunities God gives us.
Jesus said in John 7:38 that whoever believes in Him would have “rivers of living water” flowing from within them. Faith was never meant to stop with us. God fills us so we can pour into others.
That doesn’t mean we ignore responsibility. It’s okay to want stability, to build a business, and to earn income. Even in my woodworking, I know I still need materials, tools, bills paid, and food on the table. But what matters is the heart behind it all.
I told God I would love to someday build things simply to give them away. And maybe one day, through His provision, that becomes more and more possible. God can do incredible things when our hearts stay surrendered to Him.
The sermon also reminded me of something important: good works are not what save us. Ephesians 2 makes that clear. We are saved by grace through faith. But genuine faith produces action. James 2:17 says faith without works is dead. Our actions become evidence of the transformation God is doing inside of us.
Faith produces good works. Good works do not produce faith.
And growth requires movement.
We cannot stay where we are spiritually and expect deeper faith. God often will not reveal the next step until we obey the step He already placed in front of us. Obedience matters. Repentance matters. Spending time in prayer matters. Reading His Word matters. Worship matters.
Not because we are trying to earn salvation, but because we love Him and want to grow closer to Him.
Don’t stay stagnant.
Yes, God loves us exactly where we are.
But He also loves us too much to leave us there.
So every day we should strive to grow. Speak encouragement instead of hate. Stop making excuses for sin. Seek God daily. Let our lives shine in ways that point people back to Jesus. We will never be perfect on this side of heaven, but through Christ we can continue becoming more faithful, more obedient, and more transformed.
Do not hoard what God has given you.
Be a river.
Let His love, blessings, gifts, and truth flow through your life into others.

Prayer
Lord, thank You for speaking so clearly when I needed it most. Thank You for confirming things in my spirit and continuing to guide my steps even when I do not fully understand where You are leading me yet.
Help me to be a river and not a reservoir. Let me never become selfish with the gifts, opportunities, wisdom, or blessings You give me. Teach me to pour into others the same way You constantly pour into me.
Help me grow in faith daily. Strengthen my obedience. Convict me where I need to change and guide me closer to You. Let my life reflect genuine faith through love, encouragement, generosity, and action.
Bless the work of my hands and let everything be used for Your glory and Your kingdom. Open doors that align with Your will and help me stay humble no matter where You take me.
Thank You for Your grace, patience, and mercy every single day.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
