Key Verse

Isaiah 66:2 (NLT)

“My hands have made both heaven and earth; they and everything in them are mine. I, the LORD, have spoken! I will bless those who have humble and contrite hearts, who tremble at my word.”

Chapter Overview

Isaiah ends where it should:

With God.

Not Isaiah.

Not Israel.

Not Babylon.

Not human kingdoms.

God.

Heaven is His throne.

Earth is His footstool.

Everything exists because He made it.

Then God says something surprising.

After declaring His immeasurable greatness, He tells us the kind of person who receives His attention:

The humble.

The contrite.

The person who trembles at His Word.

Isaiah then confronts empty religious activity, comforts God's faithful people, announces judgment against rebellion, and finally expands the vision outward.

The nations come.

God's glory is declared.

People from distant lands are gathered.

And the book closes looking toward worship that reaches far beyond Israel.

Heaven Is His Throne

Isaiah 66 begins by destroying our small view of God.

Heaven is His throne.

Earth is His footstool.

Then God essentially asks:

What kind of house could you possibly build for Me?

😂🔥

Think about that.

Human beings build something...

Then occasionally start acting like God should be impressed that we allowed Him inside.

God Doesn't Need Our Buildings

Church buildings can be wonderful.

Temples served an important purpose in Israel.

Places set apart for worship can be beautiful.

But God cannot be contained by them.

God Doesn't Live at the Church

And then follow you home afterward.

😂

He is Lord everywhere.

Sunday Jesus Is Not Enough

🔥

If Jesus is Lord...

He's Lord Monday morning.

Tuesday afternoon.

Friday night.

When nobody is watching.

When you're at work.

When you're scrolling.

When you're spending money.

When you're angry.

When you're dating.

When you're alone.

God Is Not Looking for One Hour

He Wants Your Life

🔥

Romans 12 calls believers to offer themselves to God.

That's worship.

Not merely singing.

Surrender.

Worship Continues After the Music Stops

🔥

That's something Isaiah has taught us from the beginning.

Remember Isaiah 1?

God's people were bringing sacrifices.

Attending worship.

Practicing religion.

And God confronted them because their lives contradicted their worship.

Sixty-Five Chapters Later...

We're Back Here

😂🔥

Apparently God really cares about this.

Worship Without Obedience Is Noise

That doesn't mean obedience earns salvation.

It means genuine faith changes how we live.

Then God Says Something Beautiful

After describing Himself as Creator of heaven and earth...

He looks toward the humble and contrite.

Think about the contrast.

The God Who Holds Heaven Notices the Humble Heart

❤️🔥

That's incredible.

You don't impress Him with size.

Platform.

Money.

Followers.

Talent.

Religious vocabulary.

God Isn't Starstruck

😂

He made the stars.

He Looks for Humility

What Does Contrite Mean?

A contrite heart isn't someone constantly insulting themselves.

Humility isn't:

“I'm worthless. I'm terrible. I'm nothing.”

Biblical humility agrees with God.

Humility Sees God Clearly

And Sees Self Honestly

🔥

It says:

God is God.

I am not.

I need grace.

I can be wrong.

I need correction.

I need Jesus.

Humility Doesn't Mean Hating Yourself

It Means You Stop Worshiping Yourself

🔥

That's different.

Pride Says:

“I decide what's true.”

Humility says:

“God, teach me.”

Pride Says:

“I don't need correction.”

Humility says:

“Search me.”

Pride Says:

“Look what I've accomplished.”

Humility says:

“Everything good I have ultimately came from God.”

The Humble Can Be Corrected

That's one of the easiest tests.

Can somebody tell you you're wrong?

😂

Seriously

Can Scripture confront something you believe?

Can a trusted Christian point out a blind spot?

Can you apologize without immediately explaining why it wasn't really your fault?

“I'm Sorry, But...” Is Usually Not Finished Repenting

😂🔥

Sometimes explanations are appropriate.

But sometimes we need two words:

I'm sorry.

God Mentions Those Who Tremble at His Word

That's powerful language.

It doesn't mean being terrified every time you open the Bible.

It means treating God's Word with reverence.

Weight.

Authority.

We Don't Stand Over Scripture

Scripture Stands Over Us

🔥

That's increasingly countercultural.

We don't read the Bible asking:

“Which parts fit my preferences?”

We ask:

“What has God said?”

Don't Edit God Down to Someone You Would Have Invented

🔥

Because if our God agrees with us about absolutely everything...

We should probably be suspicious.

😂

Scripture Should Occasionally Step on Our Toes

If it never does...

We may be reading ourselves into it instead of letting it read us.

Trembling at God's Word Means We Take It Seriously

When it comforts us...

Receive comfort.

When it promises...

Trust.

When it warns...

Listen.

When it commands...

Obey.

When it corrects...

Repent.

Don't Only Highlight the Verses You Like

😂🔥

Let the difficult ones disciple you too.

Then Isaiah Confronts Religious Hypocrisy

God describes people bringing offerings while their hearts continue choosing what He hates.

This is strong language.

Because God isn't impressed by religious activity detached from obedience.

You Can Be Around Holy Things

Without Having a Surrendered Heart

🔥

You can attend church.

Know worship songs.

Post Bible verses.

Serve.

Lead.

Teach.

And still protect areas of rebellion.

Religious Activity Cannot Replace Relationship

God Doesn't Want Performance Covering Rebellion

He Wants Repentance

🔥

Sometimes We Use Ministry to Avoid God

That sounds strange.

But it happens.

We stay busy doing things for God...

So we don't have to sit quietly with God.

Busyness Can Hide a Lot

😂

Don't Confuse Being Needed With Being Healthy

🔥

You can be useful publicly and exhausted privately.

You can help everyone else and ignore your own soul.

Jesus Doesn't Need Your Ministry More Than He Wants Your Heart

❤️

Come Back to Him

Not the platform.

Not the role.

Not the title.

Him.

God Takes His Word Seriously

Isaiah describes people who ignored God's voice and deliberately chose what displeased Him.

There's a pattern here.

God spoke.

They chose differently.

That's the Heart of Rebellion

Not ignorance.

Resistance.

Be Careful When You Already Know

🔥

There are times we pray:

“God, show me what to do.”

And maybe the answer is:

“I already did.”

😂

We Sometimes Want New Revelation

Because We Don't Like the Old Instruction

🔥

“Lord, should I forgive?”

Yes.

“Lord, should I tell the truth?”

Yes.

“Lord, should I love my enemies?”

Also yes.

😂

We Don't Need a Sign for What Scripture Already Says

🔥

That's one of the safest principles we can learn.

God Comforts His People

Isaiah then changes tone.

Jerusalem is pictured with maternal imagery—comfort, nourishment, tenderness.

This matters.

Because Isaiah's God isn't only powerful.

He's compassionate.

God's Strength and Tenderness Are Not Opposites

❤️🔥

He judges evil.

And comforts His people.

Some People Think Strength Means Never Being Gentle

Jesus destroys that idea.

He could confront hypocrisy fiercely...

And welcome children.

He could command storms...

And weep beside a tomb.

Biblical Strength Knows How to Be Tender

🔥

God Knows When His People Need Comfort

Not every moment needs correction.

Sometimes you're not rebelling.

You're hurting.

Don't Diagnose Every Tear as a Spiritual Failure

❤️

Sometimes life hurts.

God Is Near to the Brokenhearted

And His people should be too.

Don't Preach at Every Wound

Sometimes Sit Beside It

🔥

There is a time to speak.

And a time to simply be present.

Isaiah Also Talks About Judgment

We can't skip it because it's uncomfortable.

The final chapter of Isaiah contains serious warnings.

God will judge rebellion.

The God Who Comforts Is Also the God Who Judges

That's not contradiction.

That's holiness.

Love Does Not Require God to Ignore Evil

🔥

If God looked at abuse, murder, exploitation, hatred, oppression, and every hidden evil and said:

“Whatever.”

We wouldn't call that loving.

Justice Matters Because People Matter

🔥

God's judgment means evil will not reign forever.

But Judgment Should Humble Christians

Not Make Us Smug

We aren't saved because we were morally superior.

We're saved by grace.

The Cross Leaves No Room for Swagger

🔥

Jesus didn't die because we almost had everything figured out.

He died because we needed rescue.

So When We Talk About Judgment

We Should Also Talk About the Door of Mercy

Jesus.

The Warning Is Real

And So Is the Invitation

🔥

Then the Nations Appear

This is where Isaiah's ending becomes huge.

God says He will gather people from nations and languages.

His glory will be declared among them.

God Was Always Thinking Bigger Than One Nation

🔥

Israel had a unique covenant role.

But God's redemptive purpose always pointed outward.

Remember God's Promise to Abraham

Through him...

All nations would be blessed.

Isaiah Ends With the Nations Coming

And Jesus tells His disciples:

Go to all nations.

🔥🔥

That's not accidental.

The Gospel Is for Everybody

Every ethnicity.

Every language.

Every nation.

Every social class.

Every background.

Nobody Owns Jesus

😂🔥

Christianity isn't the property of one country, culture, political party, race, or economic class.

Jesus is Lord.

The Church Should Look Like the Gospel Is True

🔥

Revelation shows people from every nation, tribe, people, and language worshiping before God.

Different Backgrounds

One Savior

❤️🔥

Mission Exists Because Jesus Deserves Worship Everywhere

We share the gospel because people need salvation.

And because Jesus deserves glory among every people.

Christianity Was Never Meant to Stop With Us

🔥

If someone told you about Jesus...

The gospel traveled to reach you.

Now Carry It Forward

Maybe across an ocean.

Maybe across the street.

Maybe across the dinner table.

You Don't Need a Missionary Passport to Live on Mission

😂🔥

Start with whoever God has placed near you.

Tell People About Jesus

Not because you're better.

Because you've found mercy.

Beggars Telling Other Beggars Where the Bread Is

That's evangelism.

❤️

Then Isaiah Looks Forward Again

God speaks of the new heavens and new earth enduring before Him.

There it is again.

The same hope from Isaiah 65.

New Creation

🔥

God's story isn't ending with ruins.

It isn't ending with exile.

It isn't ending with Babylon.

It isn't ending with death.

The King Makes All Things New

🔥🔥

And God's People Worship

Isaiah's final vision includes humanity coming before God in worship.

That's where the story is going.

Worship Is Where Isaiah Ends

And In a Way...

It's Where Isaiah Began

Because the question throughout the whole book has been:

Who will you worship?

Yourself?

Your idols?

Your strength?

Your nation?

Your money?

Your plans?

Your fear?

Or God?

Isaiah Has Spent Sixty-Six Chapters Removing Rivals From the Throne

🔥🔥

Kings fell.

Empires fell.

Idols failed.

Human strength failed.

Money failed.

Military alliances failed.

Pride failed.

God Remained

❤️🔥

See Jesus Here

The nations Isaiah sees gathered to God find their hope ultimately in Jesus.

Jesus is the Servant Isaiah promised.

The suffering Savior.

The righteous King.

The One who bore our sin.

The One who rose.

The One who sends His followers to the nations.

The One who will return.

Isaiah's Hope Has a Name

Jesus

🔥🔥

He Is the Child Promised

The Son given.

Immanuel.

The Servant.

The suffering Savior.

The King.

The Book Has Been Pointing Forward

And the gospel tells us:

He came.

But the Story Isn't Finished Yet

Jesus came once in humility.

He will return as King.

The Manger Was Not the Final Scene

🔥

Neither was the cross.

Neither was the tomb.

The Tomb Is Empty

The King Is Alive

🔥🔥

And He is coming again.

Character of God

God is incomparable.

Heaven is His throne and earth is His footstool.

God is attentive.

He sees the humble and contrite.

God is holy.

He takes His Word seriously.

God is compassionate.

He comforts His people.

God is just.

Evil will not reign forever.

God is missional.

His glory is going to the nations.

God is faithful.

His promises do not expire.

God is eternal.

His Kingdom will endure.

The Lie vs. The Truth

The Lie

“God is impressed by religious activity, outward success, and spiritual appearance. As long as I look faithful, what's happening inside doesn't matter much.”

The Truth

“God sees the heart. He looks toward the humble person who reveres His Word, receives His grace, obeys Him sincerely, and lives for the glory of Jesus.”

After Sixty-Six Chapters

Maybe this is where Isaiah leaves us.

Not asking:

“How much did you learn?”

But:

“Who is sitting on the throne?”

🔥

Because we've seen what happens when fear sits there.

Pride.

Money.

Power.

Relationships.

Nations.

Idols.

Self.

They cannot carry the weight.

Only God Can

So maybe after sixty-six days...

The greatest thing we've learned isn't merely more information about Isaiah.

Maybe we've learned again:

God is holy.

God is just.

God is merciful.

God keeps His promises.

Human pride falls.

Idols fail.

Grace reaches sinners.

Jesus saves.

The King is coming.

And...

The King makes all things new. ❤️🔥

The Question Isaiah Keeps Asking

Isaiah has shown us kings.

Armies.

Empires.

Money.

Idols.

Religious systems.

Human wisdom.

Fear.

Pride.

And again and again, the answer has been the same:

None of them can save you.

🔥

They may help.

They may have legitimate purposes.

They may even be gifts from God.

But they make terrible gods.

What Are You Trusting?

That's where Isaiah 66 gets personal.

Because idols aren't only statues.

An idol is anything we ask to carry weight that belongs to God.

Money can become:

“I'll be okay if I have enough.”

A relationship can become:

“I'll finally be whole if this person loves me.”

Success can become:

“I'll matter when people recognize me.”

Control can become:

“I'll have peace once everything goes according to plan.”

But Idols Always Ask for More

🔥

More money.

More approval.

More success.

More control.

And somehow...

Still no peace.

Jesus Doesn't Ask You to Pretend Those Things Don't Matter

He asks you not to make them Lord.

There's a difference.

Plan.

Save.

Work.

Love people.

Build things.

Pursue goals.

But don't hand created things the throne.

Only Jesus Can Carry the Weight of Being Your God

🔥

Isaiah Started With Empty Worship

Way back in Isaiah 1, God's people were doing religious things while their lives wandered from Him.

Now Isaiah 66 closes with another warning about religious activity without surrendered hearts.

That's not an accident.

God Has Never Wanted Performance

He Wants Us

❤️

We can become very good at looking Christian.

We know when to say:

“Amen.”

We know the songs.

We know the language.

We know how to post the verse.

😂

But God sees beyond presentation.

You Can Fool People

You Cannot Fool God

And strangely...

That's comforting.

Because it also means you don't have to perform for Him.

You Can Come Honestly

You don't need fake strength.

Fake perfection.

Fake happiness.

Fake certainty.

God Already Knows

🔥

So bring Him the real thing.

Humility Says, “Here I Am”

Isaiah 6 gave us one of the defining moments of this entire journey.

Isaiah saw the Lord.

High and exalted.

And suddenly Isaiah didn't feel very impressive anymore.

😂

He became painfully aware of his own sin.

But God didn't leave him there.

Isaiah was cleansed.

Then God called.

And Isaiah answered:

“Here I am. Send me.”

Notice the Order

🔥

Isaiah didn't clean himself up and earn the assignment.

God cleansed him.

Then Isaiah responded.

Grace Comes Before Mission

That's still true.

We don't serve Jesus hoping He will finally love us.

We serve because He already loved us.

Saved People Get Sent

🔥

Grace isn't the end of your story.

It's the beginning of a surrendered life.

“Here I Am” Is Still a Dangerous Prayer

😂🔥

Because God may actually use you.

Maybe not on a giant platform.

Maybe nobody knows your name.

Maybe your mission field looks like:

Your house.

Your workplace.

Your neighborhood.

Your children.

Your marriage.

Your school.

Your friend group.

Faithfulness Doesn't Need a Stage

🔥

Sometimes the holiest thing you can do is faithfully love the people God has already put in front of you.

Then Isaiah Gave Us Immanuel

When fear filled the room in Isaiah 7, God gave a sign:

Immanuel.

God with us.

And that theme kept growing.

Fear Says:

“You're alone.”

The gospel says:

“God came near.”

❤️🔥

Jesus Is God With Us

Not God shouting instructions from a safe distance.

Jesus entered our world.

He knew hunger.

Weariness.

Rejection.

Grief.

Temptation—without sin.

Suffering.

Our Savior Stepped Into the Story

🔥

That's why Christianity isn't merely advice.

Advice tells you what to do.

The gospel tells you what God has done.

Then Came the Promised Child

Isaiah 9 gave us hope in darkness.

Light was coming.

A Child would be born.

A Son given.

And His government and peace would never end.

Darkness Didn't Stop the Promise

🔥

That's another theme we've seen for sixty-six days.

God does some of His greatest work while everything looks impossible.

Don't Confuse Darkness With God's Defeat

❤️

There are seasons where you cannot see what He's doing.

That doesn't mean He stopped being God.

Isaiah Taught Us to Trust in the Dark

Sometimes faith doesn't look like confidence about the outcome.

Sometimes it sounds like:

“Jesus, I don't understand this. But I'm staying with You.”

🔥

That's faith too.

Then Isaiah Showed Us the Servant

As the book continued, the picture sharpened.

Someone was coming who would serve.

Obey.

Suffer.

Save.

And Isaiah 53 brought us face-to-face with one of the clearest pictures in the book.

He Took Our Place

❤️🔥

We wandered.

He was wounded.

We sinned.

He carried our sin.

Christianity Stands or Falls on Jesus

Not our goodness.

Not our church attendance.

Not our ability to get everything right.

Jesus Did What We Couldn't

🔥

That's why the cross destroys both despair and pride.

Despair Says:

“I'm too sinful.”

The cross says:

“Look how far Jesus went to save sinners.”

Pride Says:

“I'm a pretty good person.”

The cross says:

“If goodness could save you, Jesus wouldn't have needed to die.”

🔥

At the Cross, Nobody Gets to Brag

And nobody who comes to Jesus needs to believe they're beyond mercy.

Grace Humiliates Pride

And Heals Shame

❤️🔥

Then God Said, “You Are Mine”

Isaiah 43 gave us one of the most comforting truths of the entire journey.

God knows His people.

Calls them.

Walks with them.

You Are Not Just a Face in the Crowd

❤️

But remember:

Belonging to God isn't merely sentimental.

If we are His...

Then we are His.

😂🔥

“You Are Mine” Is Comfort

And Lordship

We love the comfort part.

But belonging also means our lives aren't ours to worship ourselves with.

Jesus Didn't Purchase Half of You

🔥

Not Sunday-you.

Not church-you.

You.

Then Isaiah Kept Attacking Idols

Over and over.

And honestly...

Isaiah was almost rude about it.

😂

He basically says:

You cut down a tree.

Burn half of it to cook dinner.

Then carve the other half into a god.

And bow to it.

Isaiah's Point Was Obvious

How can something you created save you?

🔥

Modern idols are more sophisticated.

But the logic hasn't changed.

If You Have to Constantly Maintain Your Savior...

It's Probably Not a Savior

😂🔥

Your bank account needs maintaining.

Your reputation needs maintaining.

Your body needs maintaining.

Your career needs maintaining.

Jesus Holds You

You Don't Hold Him

❤️

Then God Invited the Thirsty

Isaiah 55:

Come.

You're thirsty?

Come.

You don't have money?

Come.

Stop spending your life on things that cannot satisfy.

That's Still the Invitation

🔥

We keep buying things we think will finally satisfy us.

Not always literally buying.

We chase.

Approval.

Achievement.

Pleasure.

Recognition.

Control.

Then Wonder Why We're Still Thirsty

😂

Jesus Doesn't Sell Living Water

He Gives It

🔥

Grace cannot be purchased.

It can only be received.

Come While He Is Near

Don't keep saying:

“Someday.”

Someday I'll take God seriously.

Someday I'll forgive.

Someday I'll repent.

Someday I'll surrender.

Someday Is a Dangerous Spiritual Strategy

🔥

Respond today.

Then Isaiah Told Us What Worship Looks Like

Isaiah 58 confronted fasting without justice, compassion, and transformed living.

Again:

God wasn't rejecting worship.

He was rejecting worship disconnected from life.

If Worship Never Leaves the Sanctuary

It Missed Something

🔥

Love God.

Love people.

Your Theology Should Eventually Become Kindness

Not compromise.

Not avoiding truth.

But if all our Bible knowledge makes us harsh, arrogant, impatient, and impossible to be around...

We may know verses without looking much like Jesus.

Truth Should Make Us More Like Christ

🔥

Then Isaiah Said, “Arise”

Isaiah 60 pictured light breaking over God's people.

Darkness was real.

But darkness wasn't ultimate.

You Don't Need to Pretend It's Not Dark

To Believe the Light Is Coming

❤️🔥

That matters.

Christian hope isn't denial.

It's confidence in God while acknowledging reality.

Then Came Beauty From Ashes

Isaiah 61.

Good news for the poor.

Comfort for the brokenhearted.

Freedom.

Restoration.

Beauty instead of ashes.

And Jesus Opened Isaiah

In the synagogue, Jesus read from Isaiah and announced that the Scripture was being fulfilled in their hearing.

🔥

Isaiah wasn't merely giving us inspirational poetry.

The story was moving toward Someone.

Jesus

Then We Learned the Potter Is Our Father

Isaiah 64.

We are clay.

God is Potter.

But He's also Father.

Surrender Is Safer When You Know Whose Hands You're In

❤️

We don't need the whole blueprint.

We need the next faithful step.

Stop Trying to Be the Potter

Stay in His Hands

🔥

Then Isaiah 65 Looked Ahead

New heavens.

New earth.

Joy.

Peace.

Restoration.

This Isn't the Finished Version

🔥🔥

That may be one of the most important things Isaiah gives suffering people.

What you see right now...

Is real.

But it isn't final.

Your Worst Day Is Not Eternity

❤️

Your grief isn't eternity.

Your diagnosis isn't eternity.

Your failure isn't eternity.

Your trauma isn't eternity.

The grave isn't eternity.

Jesus Is

🔥

And Now Isaiah 66 Brings Us Back to the Throne

Heaven is God's throne.

Earth His footstool.

And after everything we've learned...

God says He looks toward the humble person who trembles at His Word.

Maybe That's the Final Posture Isaiah Wants From Us

Not:

“Look how much I know now.”

But:

“Lord, I'm listening.”

❤️🔥

Sixty-Six Days Should Make Us More Teachable

Not More Impressed With Ourselves

If we've spent all this time in Isaiah and come away thinking:

“Wow, I know a lot.”

Okay.

😂

But there's something better.

“Jesus, Make Me More Like You”

🔥

That's the goal.

Not information alone.

Transformation.

Let Scripture Correct You

This may be one of the biggest practical lessons from Isaiah 66.

Don't approach Scripture only looking for encouragement.

Come ready for correction too.

Ask Before You Read:

“God, what do You want me to see?”

“Is there something I need to believe?”

“Something I need to stop?”

“Something I need to start?”

“Someone I need to forgive?”

“Something I need to surrender?”

Don't Read the Bible Only Looking for Other People's Sins

😂🔥

We are very talented at that.

“Wow, I know somebody who needs this verse.”

Maybe.

But you're the one reading it.

😂

Let the Word Reach You First

🔥

Trembling at God's Word Means Obedience Gets Personal

It's easy to agree with Scripture in theory.

Love your enemies?

Absolutely.

Until you have one.

😂

Forgive?

Of course.

Until somebody actually hurts you.

Don't worry?

Amen.

Until the bill arrives.

Trust God?

Definitely.

Until His plan differs from yours.

Faith Becomes Real Where Obedience Becomes Costly

🔥

Don't Wait Until Obedience Feels Convenient

Some of the most important yeses you'll give Jesus won't feel easy.

Humility Says:

“Your way is better than mine.”

Even when mine feels easier.

Remember Who Is on the Throne

That's where Isaiah has been pushing us all along.

When Assyria looked unstoppable...

God was still on the throne.

When Babylon rose...

God was still on the throne.

When kings failed...

God was still on the throne.

When God's people wandered...

God was still on the throne.

Your Crisis Didn't Create a Vacancy in Heaven

😂🔥

God is still God.

That Doesn't Mean Every Outcome Will Be What You Want

Isaiah certainly doesn't teach that.

Jerusalem suffered.

People experienced exile.

Consequences were real.

God's Sovereignty Isn't a Promise of Comfortable Circumstances

It's a Promise That Chaos Doesn't Become King

🔥

Fear Is Loud

But It Doesn't Sit on the Throne

❤️

Neither does cancer.

Money.

Politics.

War.

Death.

Your past.

Your mistakes.

Other people's opinions.

Jesus Is Lord

🔥🔥

So What Does Isaiah 66 Ask From Us Today?

Humility.

Reverence.

Obedience.

Faith.

Mission.

Hope.

Humble Yourself

You don't know everything.

Neither do I.

😂

God does.

Take His Word Seriously

Not selectively.

Not only when it's comfortable.

Obey What You Already Know

Stop demanding another sign for something God has already made clear.

Carry the Gospel

Someone needs to hear about Jesus.

Not your superiority.

Jesus.

Live With Hope

This isn't the finished version.

And Worship

Not merely with songs.

With your life.

Let Your Life Say:

“Jesus is Lord.”

🔥

At home.

At work.

Online.

In private.

In disappointment.

In success.

When prayers are answered.

And when you're still waiting.

The Goal Was Never Just Sixty-Six Devotionals

❤️

The goal was knowing God more deeply.

Trusting Jesus more completely.

Recognizing idols more quickly.

Repenting more honestly.

Loving Scripture more deeply.

Living more faithfully.

Don't Finish Isaiah

And Leave Isaiah Behind

🔥🔥

Take it with you.

Remember the Throne

When fear comes.

Remember Immanuel

When you feel alone.

Remember the Servant

When shame tells you you're beyond mercy.

Remember the Cross

When pride tells you you're better than someone else.

Remember “You Are Mine”

When identity gets shaky.

Remember the Invitation

When you're thirsty.

Remember the Potter

When you don't understand the shape.

Remember New Creation

When the world feels unbearably broken.

And Remember the King

When everything else feels out of control.

❤️🔥

See Jesus Through Isaiah

The beauty of this journey is that Isaiah doesn't merely give us disconnected predictions.

It reveals the unfolding hope of God's redemptive plan.

And Christians reading Isaiah from this side of the cross can see how profoundly those themes converge in Jesus.

The promised Son.

Immanuel.

The righteous King.

The Servant.

The suffering Savior.

The One who brings good news.

The One who gathers the nations.

The One through whom sinners are reconciled to God.

The risen Lord.

The returning King.

Isaiah Keeps Pointing Beyond Isaiah

🔥

Toward Jesus.

The Lie vs. The Truth

The Lie

“If I know enough Bible, attend enough church, and look spiritual enough, I've reached the goal.”

The Truth

“God desires a humble heart that reveres His Word. Scripture should lead me to Jesus, repentance, obedience, worship, love, mission, and a life increasingly surrendered to Him.”

Before We Finish

There is one question worth sitting with.

After sixty-six chapters of watching idols fall, kingdoms crumble, sinners receive mercy, promises survive impossible circumstances, the Servant suffer, and God's future unfold...

Who is sitting on the throne of your life?

Not who you say.

Who actually is?

What controls your decisions?

What determines your worth?

What are you most afraid to lose?

Where do you run when you're scared?

What do you believe you cannot live without?

Those Questions Expose Thrones

🔥

And if something else has taken the seat...

You don't need to hide it.

Bring it to Jesus.

Repent.

Receive grace.

Surrender again.

Because the King Is Still Calling

❤️

The invitation hasn't changed.

Come.

Trust Him.

Follow Him.

And when you don't understand...

Stay.

Sixty-Six Chapters Later

God is still holy.

Grace is still amazing.

Sin is still serious.

Idols still fail.

God's Word still stands.

Jesus still saves.

The tomb is still empty.

The Kingdom is still coming.

And the King is still on the throne.

🔥🔥

So after everything Isaiah has shown us...

Maybe the response is still the same one Isaiah gave when he saw the King:

Here I am. Send me. ❤️🔥

Did You Notice?

Isaiah begins with God's people spiritually sick and ends with the nations coming to worship God.

That's quite a journey.

🔥

The book begins with rebellion.

It ends looking toward restoration.

It begins with empty worship.

It ends with true worship.

It begins with people who have forgotten their God.

It ends with God's glory being declared among the nations.

And throughout the middle of it all...

God keeps calling.

Did You Notice God Never Lost the Throne?

Kings came and went.

Assyria terrified nations.

Babylon rose.

Jerusalem fell.

God's people wandered.

Empires looked unstoppable.

But heaven never changed leadership.

😂🔥

God remained God.

Did You Notice How Often God Confronted Idols?

Isaiah kept returning to them because the human heart keeps making them.

Our idols may look different now.

But the temptation is the same:

Take something created...

And ask it to give us what only God can give.

Identity.

Security.

Worth.

Peace.

Salvation.

Good Gifts Still Make Terrible Gods

🔥

Enjoy God's gifts.

Just don't put them on His throne.

Did You Notice How Often Isaiah Pointed Toward Jesus?

Immanuel.

The promised Son.

The righteous King.

The Servant.

The suffering Savior.

The One bringing good news.

The One through whom the nations receive hope.

From this side of the cross, we can see these threads converging beautifully in Christ.

Isaiah Was Never the Hero

Jesus Is

❤️🔥

Did You Notice How Isaiah Ends?

Not with humanity becoming impressive.

Not with people finally figuring everything out.

Not with the perfect human government.

Not with enough money, education, technology, or power solving the human heart.

It ends with God reigning and people worshiping Him.

The Answer Was Never Us

🔥

We needed a Savior.

And God gave us Jesus.

Main Takeaway

If we could carry one truth from these sixty-six chapters, maybe it's this:

God can be trusted because God is God.

He is holy when we don't understand.

Faithful when we are waiting.

Merciful when we repent.

Just when evil seems unanswered.

Near when we feel alone.

Sovereign when life feels chaotic.

And through Jesus, He has done for us what we could never do for ourselves.

Isaiah Has Taught Us:

Fear doesn't belong on the throne.

Pride doesn't belong on the throne.

Money doesn't belong on the throne.

Relationships don't belong on the throne.

Success doesn't belong on the throne.

Politics doesn't belong on the throne.

Pain doesn't belong on the throne.

Our past doesn't belong on the throne.

Even we don't belong on the throne.

Jesus does.

🔥🔥

The Lie vs. The Truth

The Lie

“I can build a life secure enough, successful enough, religious enough, or controlled enough that I won't really need complete dependence on God.”

The Truth

“I was created for God. Idols cannot save me, religious performance cannot rescue me, and control cannot give me peace. Jesus is Savior and Lord. I can trust Him, follow Him, and build my life on His Word.”

Reflection Questions

  1. What has God shown me about Himself through Isaiah?

  2. What has He exposed in me?

  3. Is there an idol I've recognized during these sixty-six days?

  4. What fear do I need to remove from the throne?

  5. Where has God been asking me to trust Him?

  6. Is there something Scripture has corrected that I still need to obey?

  7. Has studying God's Word made me more humble and teachable?

  8. Who in my life needs to hear about Jesus?

  9. What truth from Isaiah do I most need to remember in my current season?

  10. After sixty-six days, what does “Here I am. Send me” look like in my actual life?

Final Action Step

THE 66-DAY ALTAR

Take one page.

At the top write:

WHAT ISAIAH TAUGHT ME

Then answer four things.

REMEMBER

Write one truth about God you never want to forget.

Maybe:

God is holy.

God is faithful.

God is sovereign.

God is near.

God keeps His promises.

RELEASE

Write one thing you need to remove from the throne.

Fear.

Control.

Approval.

Money.

Success.

A relationship.

Your own plans.

RESPOND

Write one act of obedience God has placed in front of you.

Not twenty.

😂

One.

What is the next faithful step?

GO

Write one name.

Someone you can pray for, encourage, serve, or tell about Jesus.

Then at the bottom of the page write:

HERE I AM. SEND ME.

Keep that page somewhere you'll see it.

Not as a trophy for finishing Isaiah.

As a reminder that finishing the study isn't the end.

Now we live it.

🔥

Prayer

Father,

Sixty-six chapters later, I come back to You.

Thank You for every truth You've shown me through Isaiah.

Thank You for reminding me that You are holy, faithful, just, merciful, sovereign, and good.

Forgive me for the things I've placed on Your throne.

My fear.

My plans.

My pride.

My need for control.

My desire for approval.

Anything I've trusted more than You.

Thank You for Jesus.

Thank You that when I could not save myself, You provided a Savior.

Thank You for the cross.

Thank You that He carried sin.

Thank You that the tomb is empty.

Jesus, You are Savior and Lord.

Teach me to live like that's true.

Keep my heart humble.

Help me tremble at Your Word—not in terror, but with reverence that listens, trusts, and obeys.

When I'm afraid, remind me who sits on the throne.

When I feel alone, remind me of Immanuel.

When shame speaks, remind me of the cross.

When I don't understand the shape of my life, remind me that You are the Potter.

When the world feels hopeless, remind me:

This isn't the finished version.

Use my life for Your glory.

And whatever You call me to next...

Here I am.

Send me.

In Jesus' name,

Amen.
