God’s will is good.

Sometimes that can be hard to believe when we look around at all the evil and pain in the world. People get hurt. Bad things happen. Life can feel unfair and confusing. But one thing we have to remember is that God gave humanity free will.

He gave us the ability to choose between right and wrong. He allows people to choose whether they will follow Him or reject Him. Because God is faithful to His promises, He does not force obedience or love onto anyone. God does not choose evil. People do.

That does not mean innocent people deserve what happens to them. They do not. Evil hurts people every day, and God hates evil far more than we ever could. He sees every tear, every injustice, every painful moment, and every hidden wound.

But God also gives us another promise. Romans 8:28 says He works all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. That does not mean everything that happens is good. It means God is so powerful that He can bring good even out of terrible situations.

Genesis 50:20 shows this clearly when Joseph tells his brothers that what they meant for evil, God used for good. God can redeem broken things. He can restore what people tried to destroy.

In Matthew 14, Jesus fed thousands of people with only a few loaves of bread and a couple fish. What looked impossible became more than enough in His hands. There were even leftovers. That same God can still multiply hope, peace, strength, healing, and purpose in our lives today. He can take something painful and turn it into something meaningful.

This is where faith and trust come in.

We may not understand why certain things happen. We may wonder why some people suffer while others do not. Some questions may not fully be answered until heaven. But even when we do not understand His ways, we can still trust His heart.

I personally believe God tries to stop evil in many ways. Through conviction in someone’s spirit, Through warnings, Through other people stepping in and helping, and Through opportunities to choose what is right. But He still allows people to make their own choices. That is part of free will.

That is also why we have the choice to follow Jesus or walk away from Him.

Yes, people can choose to live moral lives without accepting Jesus. But life with Jesus changes everything. Through Him we receive salvation, peace, purpose, forgiveness, and eternal life. Through Him the good inside us can be multiplied greatly. John 14:27 reminds us that Jesus gives a peace the world cannot give.

I know many of us have been hurt. Some deeply. Some in ways words cannot fully explain. But believing that God has good will for us brings peace into the heart. It reminds us that no pain is wasted in His hands.

No matter what is happening right now, no matter what has happened before, and no matter what comes next, God can still bring good from it.

And if you do not know God, I ask you today to simply give Him a chance. Let Him work through you and in you. His desire is not to destroy you. His desire is to save you, guide you, heal you, and bring you home.

Prayer

Lord, help me trust You even when life does not make sense. Remind me that Your heart is good and that You are able to bring beauty from brokenness. Give me peace in the middle of uncertainty and strengthen my faith when I feel weak. Help me follow You daily and allow Your love to work through my life. In Jesus’ name,

Amen.
