Slow Down!!

📖 Daily Devotional — “Slow Down to Hear God”
“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10
We all know the feeling…
Ten million things to do.
Not enough hours to do them.
Life pulling you one way, responsibilities pulling you another.
And somewhere in the chaos, your spirit starts choking for air.
Here’s the truth most of us don’t want to admit:
You can’t hear God when you’re sprinting.
When we rush through every day—
trying to fix everything,
solve everything,
carry everything—
we’re doing the very opposite of what God told us to do.
God says: “Be still.”
Not because He wants you lazy.
Not because He wants you behind.
But because your soul can’t survive without stillness.
Even good things—ministry, caregiving, serving, building, providing—can become noise when they’re done in frantic exhaustion.
You don’t have to finish everything today.
You don’t have to prove anything to anyone.
And you definitely don’t need to run yourself into the ground to be “faithful.”
God blesses obedience, not burnout.
So today, slow down:
• Pray without rushing.
• Hug longer.
• Listen deeper.
• Breathe intentionally.
• Sit in creation and look at what God made.
• Enjoy the moments instead of racing through them.
You can only do what you can do.
And everything you can’t do?
God can.
He’s not asking for speed—He’s asking for faithfulness.
Slow down today, friend.
Your soul needs it.
And God is waiting in the quiet.
You got this… because God’s got you. ❤️
🙏 Prayer
Father, help me slow my spirit.
Quiet my racing thoughts.
Teach me to breathe, to rest, and to hear You in the stillness.
Show me what truly matters today, and help me let go of what doesn’t.
Fill my heart with peace instead of pressure.
Thank You for meeting me when I stop long enough to listen.
Amen.
