I know I say this a lot, but I can't stress this enough. It seems like this is one lesson the Holy Spirit keeps bringing me back to over and over again.
Keep your focus on Jesus.
The last couple of weeks have been challenging. Between the extreme heat and a sprained ankle, I haven't been able to spend much time in the shop. Instead, I shifted my focus to rebuilding the website, creating new products, and even working on a new Android app that's coming soon. Those are all good things, and I'm excited about them. After all, I believe God called me to start this business.
But somewhere along the way, I realized something.
I became so focused on the website, the business, and the problems I couldn't control that I slowly took my eyes off where they truly belonged—on Jesus.
God gently reminded me of that.
Hebrews 12:2 tells us to keep our eyes on Jesus, the One who begins and perfects our faith. When my attention drifted toward stress, uncertainty, and everything that seemed to be going wrong, my peace drifted with it. But when I turned my focus back to Christ, everything changed.
Refocusing on What Matters Most
Yes, God called me to build this business. God also called me to help care for my mom. Those responsibilities matter. But above everything else, God called me to be a disciple—to love people, share the Gospel, and point others to Jesus.
Those other things are important, but they are never supposed to become the center of my life.
Jesus reminds us in Matthew 6:33-34 to seek God's Kingdom above everything else and not to worry about tomorrow. It's completely normal to be concerned about life's challenges, but there's a difference between concern and worry. Worry keeps us focused on problems. Faith keeps us focused on God.
If you can't change something today, don't spend your energy worrying about it.
Give it to God.
Pray about it.
Trust God with it.
Then keep doing what God has called you to do today.
Philippians 4:6-7 promises that when we bring everything to God in prayer instead of being consumed by anxiety, God's peace guards our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. I've experienced that peace firsthand. It's hard to describe unless you've lived it.
The moment I shifted my attention back to Jesus instead of my circumstances, that peace returned.
God is faithful.
God is good.
And there is no safer place for our hearts than fixed firmly on Jesus.
I love you all.
Stay strong.
Stay faithful.
God bless.
Prayer
Father, thank You for gently reminding us to keep our eyes on You when life tries to pull our attention in every direction. Help us not to become consumed by stress, worry, or circumstances we cannot control. Teach us to trust You more each day and to seek Your Kingdom above everything else. Give us the peace that only You can provide, and help us stay faithful to the mission You've given each of us. Keep our hearts focused on Jesus no matter what comes our way. In Jesus' name,
Amen.
