Devotional

So many believers live like beggars.

We pray, we ask, and then we keep going back to God like He didn’t hear us the first time. We plead, we panic, and we doubt. But Scripture teaches something deeper—faith.

Yes, the Bible absolutely tells us to ask. Matthew 7:7 says to ask, seek, and knock. God invites us to come to Him with our needs. Whether it’s provision, healing, restoration, peace, wisdom, or even a godly spouse, He wants relationship with us, not distance.

But after we ask, something important must happen—we must believe.

Mark 11:24 says that when we pray, believe that we have received it, and it will be ours. Notice that—it doesn’t say believe someday God might do it. It says believe you have received it.

That changes everything.

Faith is not begging God repeatedly out of fear. Faith is trusting God completely because His Word is true. Hebrews 11:1 reminds us that faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Real faith thanks God before the answer shows up.

We don’t serve a God who is struggling to decide if He can help us. We serve a God who is able, willing, and faithful. Philippians 4:19 says He shall supply all our needs according to His riches in glory. Not maybe. Shall.

Sometimes the delay is not denial—it is preparation.

God may be strengthening your character before the blessing arrives. He may be healing parts of you that would mishandle the very thing you’re praying for. Sometimes we ask for the gift, but our heart is not yet ready to steward it well.

James 4:3 reminds us that motives matter. Our hearts must be aligned with Him. God is not withholding to punish us—sometimes He is preparing us to receive what He already intends to give.

God’s supply is never-ending. His love is never lacking. His provision is never small. But trust requires surrender.

Proverbs 3:5–6 tells us to trust in the Lord with all our heart and not lean on our own understanding. That means even when we don’t see movement, we still trust. Even when months pass, we still believe. Even when years go by, we still thank Him.

Because faith says, “God, I trust You before I see it.”

Don’t live as a beggar when you are a child of the King.

Ask.

Believe.

Trust.

Thank Him.

And stand in confidence knowing that God is faithful to fulfill His promises in His perfect timing.

Prayer

Lord, thank You that You are faithful and true. Thank You that You hear every prayer and know every need before I even speak it. Help me to live by faith and not by fear. Teach me to trust You fully, even when I cannot see the answer yet.

Remove doubt, anxiety, and unbelief from my heart. Prepare me for every blessing You have for me. Align my heart, my motives, and my desires with Your will. Help me to thank You before I see the breakthrough, and to trust Your timing in every season.

I choose faith over fear. I choose trust over striving. I choose to believe Your Word over my emotions.

Thank You for Your provision, Your peace, and Your promises.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.
